Mark Wines has been in the financial healthcare industry for fifteen years. His sound business advice, financial expertise, and understanding of operational process are sought by physicians in need of strategic planning with a profitability focus. As President of the Practice Management Division of Summit HMR, Mr. Wines uses his expertise to consult with physicians on a full range of accounting and financial issues including P&L management, receivable and payable controls, payroll and tax compliance, benefit administration and best practice billing reviews.

Most recently, Mr. Wines served as President of Wines Financial Services, Inc which he founded in 1999. Prior to that time, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of a national leader in physician billing services. Under his leadership, the company's revenue grew from $2MM to over $60MM in a three-year period. During this time, he led both the finance and operation functions of the company, and assisted with client contract negotiations and practice management services. His work with group formations and mergers has made him a leading consultant for the expansion of physician groups across the Southwest.

Mr. Wines uses his diverse financial background and understanding of physician reimbursement to assist practices with negotiations for financial assistance from hospitals and effective contracts with managed care organizations. Over the last two years, he has assisted in securing over thirty-five million in stipends from hospitals to assist hospital-based physicians with their operating expenses. His approach has resulted in both financial security for the practices and enhanced relationships between the practices and the facilities. Mr. Wines has also negotiated numerous contracts with payors resulting in predictable and profitable reimbursement with proper language for removal of pre-authorization requirements, length of term and procedures for auditing compliance with the approved fee schedule.

Mr. Wines received both an undergraduate and graduate degree in business from the University of Texas at Austin. He is currently on the Board of Directors of several large physician groups. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
